Meet The Founder

Hello Families, Educators & School Leaders,

I am a reading specialist (K-12), consultant, and yoga teacher with extensive training, skills, and knowledge in direct, explicit, systematic reading instruction as well as mindfulness and movement.

  • Graduated with M.A. in the Reading Specialist program at Teacher’s College, Columbia University (2015)

    • Trained in evidenced based practices including the Orton-Gillingham Approach

    • Coursework accredited by the International Dyslexia Association

    • Awarded Arthur Zankel Fellowship to provide tailored intervention sessions at Heritage High School

  • Graduated with M.S. from PACE University in Childhood & Special Education (2011)

    • Entrusted with 3 graduate assistantships including research on morphology.

  • Taught every grade (K-5), created curriculum, led workshops, analyzed whole-school data weekly, and coached teachers in Title I schools for 15 years.

  • Designed and facilitated professional development for LEAP in Connecticut & Summer Summit in NJ

  • Coached school leaders in Rhode Island

  • Featured on an I-95 Billboard in 2020 by students and families for Teacher Appreciation Week

  • Received the Five Mindfulness Trainings according to the Plum Village Tradition & became an official student of Thich Nhat Hanh

  • Completed 200HR Power Yoga teacher training in RI

  • Participated in Boston’s International Trauma Conference & the Transform Trauma Conference at Oxford University annually since 2018

  • Completed the Family Nervous System & Gut Health course through the Polyvagal Institute

I utilize all of my trainings to support kids and families in overcoming reading anxiety and becoming proficient readers so they can create new habits that prioritize their well-being.
